IPL Photorejuvenation (Intense Pulsed Light)

For brown spots, redness, and broken blood vessels—with minimal downtime

Often referred to as a laser, IPL (intense pulsed light) is actually a light-based treatment that is extremely popular and effective for treating sun damage, brown spots, age spots, facial redness, red blood vessels, and improving overall skin texture and tone. An IPL photofacial is gentle and non-invasive, offering minimal downtime and an extremely high patient satisfaction rate. It can be used to treat any site on the body, the most common areas being the face, neck, hands, and arms. Manhattan Dermatology uses the gold standard in IPL technology—you will see noticeable results after the first treatment.

  • DOWNTIME:         Minimal. Mild post-procedure stinging, mild redness and swelling may last 1-2 days. Brown spots will become darker and fall off within several days to one week. Hands and arms may require multiple treatments and the dark spots will take longer to fall off.
  • MAINTENANCE:    1-3 treatments. Rosacea and patients with facial redness will require multiple treatments (3-5). Once desired results are achieved, maintenance treatments are recommended 1-2 times per year.
  • AREAS TREATED:   Face, neck, chest, hands, forearms, shoulders, legs (lighter skin tones only), single spot
